DAY 1: NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Pick up will be at an agreed point and time. You will be given a brief Of the tour and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, a birdlife heaven, at the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake. The few quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy and full of color.But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore. The park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino.
Accommodation will be at the Ziwa Bush Lodge, where you will check-in and have lunch. After lunch there will be an afternoon game drive after which you will be brought back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: LAKE NAKURU – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the Rhino Sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. Predators are also resident in the park. Later, we leave for Amboseli via Nairobi with lunch en-route. We will arrive in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation will be at the Sentrim Amboseli.
DAY 3: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
This morning we rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Then we set off for a game drive.
Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from wildebeest to giraffes to baboons. Amboseli is also home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. A visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast.
Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.
Day 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
This morning we drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is also the home of the big five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Arrival will be in the late afternoon and accommodation will be at the Sentrim Mara Camp.
You will get to have snacks/ late lunch at the camp and relax while enjoying the amenities available at the camp. In the Mara, Large mammals are varied and easy to see. Residents of the park include Masai Giraffe, buffalo, eland and thousand of plain game including impala, zebra, Topi, and both Thomson’s and Grants gazelles.
DAY 2: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
The search for great predators and mammals takes place today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals and the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.
During your stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
DAY 6: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI
This day brings us to the end of our safari. We now head back to Nairobi, a journey of approximately 290kms, taking 6 hours drive by road, and one hour by charter flight to the Wilson Airport.
In the morning you will have breakfast and then proceed to check out of the lodge. We will start our journey back to Nairobi and en route you will have lunch which was prepared and packed by the Sentrim Mara Camp. Our guide driver will drop you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight or to your hotel based on your pre-arranged accommodation plan.
