Asilia Namiri Plains

As one of the renowned Asilia chain of luxury camps and lodges, Namiri Plains Camp offers a high quality tented safari experience in the wilds of Africa. It is located in a beautiful region of the Serengeti that has been closed to tourism for over 20 years in order to create a safe haven for cheetah breeding and research. Today, the area has an exceptional population of big cats and it is one of East Africa’s best locations for observing cheetah.

Namiri Plains Camp is for safari enthusiasts wanting bush luxury, advanced guiding and a deeper wildlife experience. This small and exclusive camp is set under fever trees with wonderful views of the sweeping plains ahead. These plains host the Great Migration from November to June as millions of wildebeest continue their endless journey for food and water.

Accommodation

Namiri Plains Camp has just six guest tents. Each tent offers a high level of comfort with en suite facilities, an attractive decor, crisp linen and a spacious private veranda on which to relax in the afternoons between game drives.

Activities:

Guests can explore the area on daily game drives; enjoy sunrise breakfast picnics on top of Soit Le Motonyi rock or sundowners with a view from a rocky outcrop. Whilst exploring, guests will feel like they have the Serengeti to themselves since the camp’s closest neighbour is over 45 minutes away making other vehicles an unusual sighting.

In the evenings guests can enjoy a drink together around the camp fire to share the excitement of the day’s game viewing. They can also learn more about the academic research happening in this region from the resident cheetah researcher and hear of the various conservation projects supported throughout the region.
