This is where your magical adventure begins! You’ll be driven straight to your hotel, allowing you to absorb the vibrant atmosphere of Nairobi. As you navigate the bustling streets, the colorful matatus (local buses) and towering skyscrapers will provide an exhilarating first impression of the city. Your accommodation for the night will be the prestigious Sarova Stanley, where you can relax and enjoy the luxurious amenities. Day 2: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, prepare for a scenic drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a haven for rhino enthusiasts. This conservancy is renowned for being the largest sanctuary for black rhinos in East and Central Africa, home to 140 black rhinos and the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world. In addition, Ol Pejeta is home to a sanctuary for abused chimpanzees. Expect to see the Big Five and more during your visit. Day 4: Full Day Safari in Samburu National Reserve
On this full day in Samburu, take the opportunity to search for the elusive Big Five while marveling at the majestic elephants. Morning and afternoon game drives are ideal for spotting wildlife, as the animals are most active during these times. Between safaris, you can relax at your lodge or visit a local Samburu village. The Samburu people, related to the Maasai, lead a nomadic lifestyle, living in circular bomas adorned with vibrant beadwork. You may even visit a boma to learn about their traditions, including how they create their beautiful necklaces. After a day of exploration, enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations at the lodge.
Day 5: Samburu National Reserve – Aberdare National Park
Prepare for a scenic drive to Aberdare National Park, approximately 600 kilometers away, which takes about six hours. After breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for this beautiful journey. Arriving in the afternoon, check in at The Ark Lodge for lunch and rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive. You’ll have the unique opportunity to observe wildlife from the lodge balcony and underground bunkers. With occasional alarms from your room when special animals approach the flood-lit waterhole, your experience will be unforgettable. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at The Ark Lodge.
Day 6: Aberdare National Park – Lake Nakuru National Park
Welcome to Lake Nakuru National Park! A mere three-hour drive from Aberdare, this stunning national park is home to four of the Big Five and is renowned for its remarkable wildlife. Previously known for its massive flamingo population, Lake Nakuru still offers opportunities to spot black and white rhinos, giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 400 bird species. Day 7: Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, a short two-hour drive away. This breathtaking lake, situated in the Kenyan Rift Valley, is ideal for a boat safari among hippos and flamingos. As you navigate the shores, you may spot zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes. Day 14: Departure from Lamu to Nairobi
As our 14 Days Best Kenya Safari comes to a close, we will journey back to Nairobi, which can be done via a scenic drive of approximately 10 hours or a quick one-hour and thirty-minute flight. In the morning, your guide will assist you in your return to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight or at your hotel, depending on your accommodation arrangements.
